An ode to the Year gone by!!

Nearing the end of the year 2k16, the writer within me urges to pen down what all has gone by, what all we have left behind, what all we have embraced for the days yet to come, what all we have lost, what we have won and what not. Having infinite trail of thoughts in my mind and the indecisiveness to choose amongst them, I am here making an attempt to express my heart out.

December-as the calendar changes to this very month, it gives me chills. Chills that are not just physically felt but the chills that run throughout the mind and heart. As if the soul dances on the elegantly choreographed tunes of life. Everything seems to be so good, so perfect!! I still don’t understand if it’s the atmosphere or simply my mind that plays a cupid. Enough of December talks. Ehhh!! Coming to what you might have expected, going by the title.

It’s often said that with every dawn comes a day that brings out things like that of a Pandora’s Box. Every day is filled with surprises- some of which might favour us, some of which will try to bring us down in every possible way. But what is important here is how you take those surprises. It’s on you to choose from seeing the half glass full or empty. Being humans we are bound to go through ups and downs, not only this year, but every damn year!! Rather than getting bogged down by those, lifting yourself up with the courage developed over the years and utter grace is something expected from an optimistic individual.

Myself being a strong believer of destiny, I would say right from starting the 1^st day of the year 2016 with a blast to celebrating the festivals as they come, weddings, be it school/college reunions to family get together’, happiness, sadness, accidents, incidents etc; everything that has gone by was supposed to be that way. The need of the hour is, accepting the fact that it was all a part of a master plan that you had carved unknowingly. If we try introspecting about the whole year, from every small thing happened to the big changes that we embraced-we have evolved, definitely for good.

Putting this up in a very raw form, I would say believe in yourself, because no one has ever achieved anything significant without believing in oneself and no one ever will. Believing yourself especially when there is no reason left to believe- because the ultimate bottom is the best place to start a big rise. This is the very day, to tune the rhythm called soul, with the best chords called experience and play the guitar in the beautiful symphony called LIFE.

So bottom line is accepting that, you have made mistakes just like the person in the neighbourhood. As a matter of fact, you have wronged, disappointed, been impatient, little insecure, been out of control and at times hard to bear with. After all no one is complete. If you want to gift something to yourself or to others- it’s your own existence. Believe me it can prove to be the best gift!! So the coming year, vow to do some of the things you have always wanted to do but could not find the time. Step out of your comfort zone, trying things you have never done before. Call up a forgotten friend, drop an old grudge and replace it with some pleasant memories to start all over again. Vow not to make a promise you do not think you can keep. Walk tall and proud, with dreams, dreams that don’t let you sleep. Make someone happy, make an effort to put a smile on someone’s face, you would feel 10 years younger!! Spend some time with your family and loved ones. Find time for yourself, do what your heart says & make 2k17 as the year that elevates you from where you are right now. Make it happen! It’s all on you.

All of us will open the book with blank pages throughout. We will be putting words for ourselves with various inks. The book will be called Opportunity and the first chapter would be the New Year’s Day. Wishing all my beautiful readers a Happy New Year 2017!!
